Durham County Council has held Platinum standard for street data every year since 2022, awarded by GeoPlace for the quality and maintenance of the street gazetteer, plus Highly Commended in 2022.

Shortlisted for work with two other Street Manager specialists on making street works data usable by a far wider audience — walking users through the process of transforming Street Manager data, and streamlining how it’s used across the sector. The accompanying webinar is on the DfT’s YouTube channel.

NWG Innovation Festival — Sprint winner, 2023 and 2025
Northumbrian Water Group
2025 — part of the DSIT “Unlocking the Value of NUAR” sprint, led by Neil Brammall. Working with Jonathan Bates, Christopher Carlon and Howard Yeend, we pitched and won our sprint with a tool we called the RFG Collaboration Tool. It has since become the Streets Collaboration Tool at GeoPlace.
2023 — on the Cyclomedia-sponsored street works table, tackling the friction between utilities, contractors and local authorities. Our team won best presented storyline with a proposed minimum viable product, working with Michele Chincoli, Matt Lewis (Fyld) and John Hopper (Esh Group). The idea went on to become a joint NWG and Cyclomedia initiative to create a National Road Materials Database. It didn’t ultimately proceed — though the underlying need hasn’t gone away, and it’s the kind of thing that could yet fold into NUAR.
